Long Distance (Time) Travel

I love little science and technology blurbs like this one. Who needs a time machine when we can look into the heavens and see billions of years into the past?

Some 7.5 Billion years ago, a star -- halfway to the edge of the Universe -- exploded in a huge burst of Gamma radiation and the light is just reaching us now.

And I complain about my commute to work.
